Giant Robot vs Godzilla!
I started a prototype of an idea I had after watching some rygar gameplay, mazinger Z tv show and Godzilla movie. The player fights giant monsters and shoots them to the huge godzilla like monster in the back, which is destroying a city and needs to be stoped.
It combines some beat em up with game mechanics that will allow the player to make more damage to the boss monster depending on how much he combos the smaller monsters before launching them to the boss.
After a month I have a basic prototype in unity(picture above) which lets me start a level, combo a monster and launchit to the bos, kill the boss or be killed to end the level, now I am starting to think on the first level, which will be a desert level. I am also trying to figure out what is the best way to lay down the different parts of the scene, like the city, boss, and paralax scrolls to make is look better.
Here is the first draft of the layout and general level color and feel, I will iterate it a couple of times more. (picture below).
But I still don't like the feel of the boss in relation to the city and the player on the front.
